The Shook Twins are identical twin sisters, Katelyn and Laurie, who have been singing with eachother since the fifth grade. They have been playing live shows since the beginning of 2005 and have progressed in their performance immensely. Over the last two years they have performed nearly every weekend in coffee shops, winerys and brew pubs, and recorded a studio and a live album. And after only a year of performing live, The Shook Twins landed a gig as an opening act for Ryan Adams at the Festival at Sandpoint. Laurie adds a unique aspect to their live show with her beatboxing and looping and they take turns singing and playing lead parts. Their musical elements joined with the cello, upright bass and the djembe create an organic, full and folk-like sound. Their main influences are Ani Difranco, Fionn Regan, Shawn Colvin, Bjork, Iron and Wine, The Beatles, and Joni Mitchell. The Shook Twins have also performed with bands such as: Frame of Mind, Equaleyes, members of Elephant Revival, Kaylee Cole, Karli Fairbanks, Joel Smith, Josh Hedlund, and many more amazing regional bands. |
