Review of SILENT TEAR by MICHAEL J. PAEPKE &THE REIGN
Genre: Metal 3.2 Real Metal returns with a vengance. Finally somebody remembered what it was to sing. A metal song where the guitarist knew how to fly and the singer could sing. Kicks ass, guys. Mr. Bud Minneapolis, Minnesota December 29th, 1999 Severe ass kickin! what can i say, everything kicks severe ass. way to go. great production job. you produce it yourself. singer and guitar are especially cool. love the multiple vocal tracks. remeniscent of the scorpions. Extra Credit: Guitars, Drums, Bass, Production, Lyrics, Melody, Beat, Mood, Originality, Most Bitter Breakup Song. - angry_hour Etna (Hick Central), California January 20th, 2000 Metal sounds like Metal The intro riff was incredible, it's what metal guitar should sound like. The singers voice was right on the spot. The drummer could've been a little bit better, but he fit in nicely. Only problem I encountered was the lack of a bass line. The recording was even good. This is a pretty good bad ass band. - Derangemanager Miami, Florida January 12th, 2000 Review of SILENT TEAR by MICHAEL J. PAEPKE &REIGN Genre: Metal 3.2 bringing metal back for 2000!!!!! killer track would like to hear more of this band.....if the rest of the songs are like this it would be worth buying..gets me foot tapping. Review of SILENT TEAR by MICHAEL J. PAEPKE & REIGN Genre: Metal 3.2 A band with a lot Of Skill. Hey guys. I like this a lot. It reminds me of a band I know. And I think your guitarist is very good. keep it up. Extra Credit: Male Vocals, Guitars, Production, Lyrics, Melody, Best Potential Movie Soundtrack. I just watched your myspace video. It rocks, nice vocals man! I want to hear that in person sometime. Happy Holidays and I hope good health comes your way!! F.B.K. Hi MJP! Thanks you for letting me hear your work! I like the song, I'm curious, did you do all the instruments or was this with a band? Good guitar work, with a very '80's kind of sound that unfortunately we just don't seem to hear enough of with the dark, hate, life sux metal and rap crap that seems to be all over the radio these days. I like the sound and sentiment of this song, and with you mentioning the recording is from the '80's I think you nailed what was going on and where your heart is music wise. The dynamics in the song keep it interesting considering it's a 4:12 long song, which isn't too long, but you know how todays "short attention span" society is now-a-days. The song doesn't seem to ever get redundant with the build-ups and it stays interesting with repeated listenings...very good! I listened to it 4 times before writing this. On a special note I can't help but get past how much this might sound like typical solo Ace Frehley, like the stuff he did outside of KISS in the '80's. Without any more info on who is on this recording, I can only assume that is you singing and doing the guitar work. Have you ever thought of being Space Ace in a KISS tribute band? Or picking up the song "Shock Me" for your band? Man, your vocals nail Ace on this song, and I mean that as a compliment. Thanks again for letting me hear some of your work...I like it! Take care MJP! See you down the road my friend, Bilvis ;-) |
